Alumni to bring Nashville talent to Moontown

Michael Krejci

The Zionsville Alumni Association will be bringing back Zionsville Community High School graduate Michael Krejci for a "fun-raising night" at Moontown Brewing Company, Saturday, Aug. 24. Discounted pre-sale tickets are available through Aug. 1.

"Everyone knows of our wildly popular All Class Reunions and Soaring Eagle Hall of Fame, held every three years, but during the interim we have tried to plan other local events just for local alumni and friends to gather and have fun," said Tim Ottinger, ZAA President. "We are 0-3, having to cancel three times at winter basketball games because of weather, so I think we're safe in August from ice and snow," Ottinger added.

Michael Krejci, a 1998 ZCHS grad, followed his dream and changed his focus from math to music. With three full-length albums to his credit, a well-honed stage show, and an abundance of original material, Krejci is proud to consider himself a seasoned singer-songwriter among Nashville's music community. He has opened for some of the biggest names in country and rock music, including The Band Perry and the Goo Goo Dolls, and has recorded with some of Nashville’s finest musicians.

"This event is wide open to the public and not an Zionsville alumni-only event," noted Jim Haines, co-chairman of the event with Ottinger. "We have a great night planned in the 1915 Room of Moontown Brewing Company, owned partially by the Mattingly family, also of Zionsville. Proceeds from the event will help our support of ZCHS alumni, annual scholarships, the ZCS, and other programs in development including an online alumni database. It's hard to believe but our next All Class Reunion is in the pre-planning stages for July 2020," Haines added.

Tickets for this event are available on ZAA's website,, or Zionsville Eyecare, 1375 Parkway Drive in Zionsville. The Zionsville Alumni Association began in 2005 with a mission of connecting alumni, teachers and staff over the years.
