The Zionsville Lions Club is presenting free family concerts in Lions Park each Sunday in July.
The concerts will begin at 7 p.m. each Sunday, and members of the public are encouraged to take lawn chairs and enjoy the music.
The July 7 concert is "In the Mood," a tribute to Glenn Miller performed by the Zionsville Concert Band. John Richardson is the band's director and founder.
The July 14 concert will be "How High The Moon," a tribute to the Benny Goodman Orchestra performed by Indy's All Star Big Band and Swing Shift Indy. The program will be directed by Dr. John Owen.
The third concert of the series will be "You Make Me Love You,” a tribute to the Harry James Orchestra, featuring the New Horizons Band. John Marshall is the director and Sam Rhinesmith is the assistant direction.
The final concert of the series, "The Sweetest Music This Side of Heaven," is a tribute to Guy Lombardo, performed by the Indianapolis Municipal Band, under the direction of John Marshall.
Sound for the concert series is being provided by Chuck McFarland of Indy Music Services. Concert producer is Lion Joyce Lee Davis.
Food and beverages will be offered for a donation, with proceeds used for the maintenance of Lions Park.
In the event of rain, concert will be moved to Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road.
