Northeasterndean's listNortheastern University has recognized students who distinguished themselves academically during the course of the school year. Zionsville resident Claire Winget, a Northeastern University student majoring in English, was recently named to the university's dean's list for the spring semester, which ended in April.To achieve the dean's list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.
DePauw University's 180th Annual Commencement was held on May 19.
The following area students, along with 505 classmates, became the 180th graduating class of DePauw University. The undergraduates were awarded their degrees during the program which took place in Neal Fieldhouse in the Lilly Center on May 19th, 2019.
Kevin Anderson, Joshua Bicudo Griesi, and Jacob Tanner were awarded bachelor's degree in economics; Timothy Carr was awarded a bachelor's degree in mathematics; Madeline Hoover was awarded a bachelor's degree in biochemistry; McKinley Pearce was awarded a bachelor's degree in communication, Erika Repass was awarded a bachelor's in kinesiology.
The day's events included a speech by actor and 1998 DePauw University graduate Drew Powell.
U of Vermontdean's list
Jack Doverspike, Class of 2022, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2019 semester at the University of Vermont. Doverspike from Zionsville, is majoring in English in the College of Arts and Sciences.
To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
Cedarville Udean's list
Local students Laura Mihelc and Isaac Thomas, Zionsville, have been recognized by Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio for being named to the dean's honor list for spring semester 2019. They maintained a 3.75 minimum GPA while carrying at least 12 credit hours:

Alma CollegeDean's List
Alma College has released the dean's list for those students who achieved outstanding academic performance during the 2019 Winter Term. Students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average during a term, while carrying a minimum of 13 credits, at least eight of which are evaluative grades, are named to the dean's list.
Named to the dean's list is Colin Smith of Zionsville.
Belmont Udean's list
Students from Zionsville achieved the dean's list at Belmont University for the Spring 2019 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Declan Nelligan, Chloe Nusbaum, Joshua Mitchell and Hudson Snyder of Zionsville were named to the dean's list.
Approximately 32 percent of Belmont's 8,318 students qualified for the Spring 2019 dean's list. Belmont Provost Dr. Thomas Burns said, "This achievement for the fall semester indicates that these students have placed a high priority on their work at Belmont and have invested time and energy in their studies. It is our strong belief that consistent application in this manner will reap great benefits, which will equip them for a lifetime of learning and growing."
