Chef prepared and nutritionally balanced meals for about 300 hungry persons in Boone County are on their way each Friday from Indy-based Second Helpings.

The pans of food will be distributed as take-out style meals by MHABC from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays.

MHABC Executive Director Pascal Fettig asked for the weekend help when he saw the need within our community during these stressful times. The boxed dinners, enough to feed four, will be handed out by staff at the Mental Health America Boone County offices based in the old Witham Nurse's Quarters on N. Lebanon Street in Lebanon.

"We seem to have Monday through Friday covered with meals by other agencies, but nothing prepared is available for folks over the last two days of the week," Fettig said.

The folks at MHABC are aware of the consequences of food insecurity, especially to those who are already dealing with other life challenges.

The Friday meal distribution will continue until further notice. See the MHABC Facebook page, visit the website at or call 765-482-3020 for more information.
