Light trial reset for October

The jury trial for a Brownsburg man who crashed during a police chase in Boone County has been reset for October.

Joshua A. Light, 39, faces numerous charges after allegedly fleeing a Whitestown police officer trying to make a traffic stop, and crashing into a Zionsville police car.

The incident occurred about 4 a.m. March 23, when Metropolitan Police Department attempted in initiate a traffic strop for speeding, and headlight and tail light violations, at Ind. 32 and County Road 650 East. The pursuit ended in Hamilton County when a Zionsville Police Department vehicle was struck and damaged by the suspect's car.

No one was injured.

Light was charged with resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle, operating while intoxicated, and public intoxication. The suspect was also wanted on a warrant in Hendricks County.

The jury trial, originally set for this month, is now set for 9 a.m., Oct. 22, in Boone County Superior II, with Judge Bruce Petit on the bench.
