Amber Horstman and Matthew Cook of Lebanon welcomed the first baby born at Witham Health Services in 2020. Their daughter has been named Emberlyn Cori Cook.
Emberlyn was born at 11:02 p.m. Jan. 1. She weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.
She is welcomed home by siblings Haleigh, 10, Alivia, 8, and Scarlett, 1. Maternal grandparents are Terry and Candace Wilburn of Lebanon and paternal grandparents are Tony and Elaine Cook of Thorntown.
The family of the first baby born at the hospital traditionally wins a host of prizes donated from local businesses.
Prizes included diapers, wipes and onesies, spa and beauty packages, and other items such as gift certificates to restaurants and grocery stores. The items were displayed in a Graco Jogger Travel System, which includes a stroller and car seat combo. The package is worth more than $1,300, according to a statement released by Witham.
The new mother says they never win anything, so this was a wonderful surprise for the family. She gave a sincere thank you to Witham for her care and all of the donors for the many gifts.
