ZCH show choirs bring home the titles

Zionsville Community High School Show Choirs earn titles at the Pike MusicFest 2020 competition Saturday in the Pike Performing Arts Center in Indianapolis.

The Zionsville Community High School Choralaires were named grand champions at the Pike MusicFest 2020 competition Saturday in the Pike Performing Arts Center in Indianapolis.

The school’s Royalaires earned the status of second runner up.

Both Zionsville Show Choir groups are comprised of 115 students.

Junior Emma Krep earned the title of outstanding performer for the Choralaires, who also earned titles for best vocals and best crew.

Senior Royalaires member Olivia Broadwater was named best female solo vocalist in the mixed division, while Royaliares senior Mahesh Gupta was named outstanding performer.

The show choirs will compete Feb. 22 at Franklin Central High School, Feb. 29 at Mooresville High School, March 7 in the Heart of America competition in Nashville, and perform March 10 at the ZCHS Winter Concert, with a finale May 8 and 9.
