Time is coming to a close to purchase tickets to attend the 20th annual Zionsville Fire Department Ball and Awards Banquet on Feb. 1.

“It is important to recognize our firefighters,” Tiffany Howard, executive administrative assistant for the Zionsville Fire Department and vice president of the Zionsville Fire Department support services, said.

Awards will be distributed at the banquet for probationary firefighter of the year, firefighter of the year, EMT of the year, paramedic of the year, business partner of the year, and other awards to be named at the banquet.

“Anyone on the department can nominate throughout the year,” Howard said. “They are nominated by peers and a peer review committee. The awards committee is made up of a group of firefighters and they all review the nominations and pick the winner.”

The semi-formal ball will feature a silent auction, of which items are still needed, and a jewelry raffle.

“We will take anything and everything as long as it’s new,” Howard said.

Appetizers and cocktails will kick off the affair, followed by a seated dinner catered by Shoup’s, awards, and dancing.

The event is 6 p.m. to midnight Feb. 1 at the Golf Club of Indiana’s Cardinal Room.

Tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased by Jan. 20 at the ZFD headquarters, 1100 W. Oak St., or by phone at 317-873-5358.
