Fishers — The Zionsville girls track and field team had a strong showing in the always tough HCC Meet Tuesday night at Hamilton Southeastern.
The Eagles had two conference champions on the night, and placed third overall as a team with 100 points.
Hamilton Southeastern won with 131.5, with Fishers placing second with 105.
The biggest run of the night was from senior Ella Robinson in the 300-meter hurdles.
Robinson won the event in 43.99, the fastest time in the state this season.
The Eagles also got a champion in the 100-meter hurdles, where junior Cam Gietl won in a time of 15.54. Shea Sullivan was sixth in the event in 17.03.
The Eagles also had four runner-up finishes.
Katelyn Wasson was runner-up in two distance events. She placed second in the 1,600-meter run in a personal best 4:57.41. She also placed second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:57.84.
The Eagles were second in the 400-meter relay, with the team of Sophia Yovanovich, Michelle Nazarov, Lily Robinson and Gietl finishing in 48.79. The 1,600-meter relay team of Nazarov, Lily Robinson, Audrey Sexton and Sullivan placing second in 4:03.41.
Katelyn Makinde was third in the shot put, throwing 35-feet-3.25-inches. Sophie Collier was seventh in the event in 34-feet-4-inches.
The Eagles had two place in the pole vault, with Anne Busse finishing fourth in 10-feet-8-inches and Ale Nelson placing seventh in clearing 10-feet-6-inches.
Nazarov placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.21, with Kennedy Haffner placed fifth in the high jump in 4-feet-8-inches.
The Eagles had two in finals of the 100-meter dash, with Yovanovich placing fifth in 13.19, and Emily Sexton placing eighth in 13.41.
In the long jump, Audrey Sexton was sixth in 16-feet-2-inches, with Yovanovich placing seventh in 16-feet-1.75 inches.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Taylor Browne, Katie Humphries, Isabella Brady and Kate Dimmett placed sixth in 10:14.85, as did Margaret Allen in the 800 (2:25.07) and Emily Sexton in the 400 (1:03.34).
Paige Revercomb was seventh in the discus in 105-feet-5-inches and Anna Settle was seventh in the 1,600-meter run in 5:18.55.
