Many athletes from the Zionsville track and field teams kicked off their seasons at the Hoosier State Relays Qualifier at Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles had a good showing at the meet.

On the girls side, the Eagles top finish was in the long jump. Audrey Sexton and Sophia Yovanovich tied for the win, both going 15-feet-11-inches.

Zionsville also got a win from senior Cam Gietl won the 60-meter hurdles, going 9.54 seconds. Kennedy Haffner was eighth in 10.24.

The Eagles also got a win in the 4x400 relay, where the team of Nazarov, Emily Sexton, Delaney Greeson and Shea Sullivan won in 4:18.48.

Zionsville’s Kennedy Merrell won the event, clearing 10-feet. Ale Nelson was seventh, clearing 8-feet.

In the 3,200-meter run, Anna Settle just missed a first-place finish. She came in second in a time of 11:20.26, just 0.12 seconds behind the winner. Isabella Brady was ninth in a time of 12:33.18.

In the 60-meter dash, Michelle Nazarov was second in 7.95 seconds. Sophia Yovanovich was fifth in 8.13 seconds. Audrey Sexton finished in 21st in a time of 8.56 seconds.

In the 4x200 relay, the team of Nazarov, Yovanovich, Emily Sexton and Delaney Greeson placed second in 1:48.56, just a half second out of first.

In the 4x800 relay, the Zionsville team of Katelyn Wasson, Zenaida Garcia, Katie Humphries and Reagan McCooey finished in 9:56.13.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Margaret Allen, Mary Raikos, Settle and Wasson placed second in 12:44.46.

In the high jump, Sarah Mayo was 14th in a height of 4-feet-6-inches, and Kennedy Haffner was also 14th.

In the shot put, Katelyn Makinde placed fourth in a distance of 36-feet-7.50-inches. Sophie Collier was 17th in a distance of 32-feet-2-inches.

On the boys side, the Eagles got a win from the 4x800 relay team of Sam Miller, Decatur Dell, Robby Pratt and Jesus Garcia. The team won in a time of 8:16.34.

The 4x400 relay team of Cam Greeson, Will Varner, Jackson Iler and Diego Scheker placed second in a time of 3:37.06.

In the boys 60-meter dash, Connor Canfield was 11th in 7.34. Kyle Harmon was 15th in a time of 7.37 and Jacob Horten was 18th in a time of 7.40.

In the 3,200-meter run, Logan Cole was fourth in a time of 9:47.70. Matthew Helton was 15th in 10:31.79.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Will Varner was seventh in a time of 9.18. Diego Scheker was 15th in a time of 9.54, with Knox Willis being 16th in a time of 9.59.

In the 4x200 relay, the Zionsville team of Varner, Zack Woerner, Jackson Iler and Canfield placed fifth in 1:37.26.

In the Distance Medley Relay team of Pratt, Canfield, Dell and Garcia placed third in 11:07.86.

In the high jump, Kyle Harmon was eighth with a height of 5-feet-8-inches and Alden Briney was 13th in 5-feet-6-inches.

In the pole vault, Cade Priddy was fourth, clearing 11-feet-6-inches.

Harmon was ninth in the long jump, going 19-feet-0.75-inches. Scheker was 12th in the long jump going 18-feet-10.75-inches.

Zach Sibila was 13th in the shot put, throwing 40-feet-3-inches.

The Eagles will compete in the Indoor HCC Meet at DePauw.
